Try one card and see if you get 16x. Then try the other card in the other slot, and see if you get 16x.

Tried the cards in different slots and they work just fine and they appear to be set to x16 I've tried 3 differant drivers (clean uninstall and reinstall) and can't figure out why this is happening

I still can't get the damn thing to work! it detects both cards just fine, and i've gone through the manual like 80 times and haven't found anything about jumpers or BIO's switches anyone have any idea of whats going on?

the first card has an IRQ or 16 in nvidia menu, while the second card has an IRQ of 0

what is IRQ and what does it mean?

Do you have them connected via the SLi bridge?

Yep connected via the bridge, I've updated the bios and everything. My drivers are 169.09 beta's, I tried the drivers that came with the cards as well.

I didn't completely clean the drivers, I just uninstalled them. Everything I can find shows that both cards are running at x16 as they should be on the 590 board. Everything is installed properly installed on the device manager. Its driving me batty!

Are you sure there's no sli setting in the mobo bios, some mobos have this "feature"

Yeah checked everywhere in the bios, in the back of the mobo book it explains how to set up SLi and its pretty much just plug in and enable in windows from what it says nothing about bios or jumpers

Don't worry mate, neither could they.

Got it up yet? You might try searching for driver cleaner. It's pay now, but the older version still fixes issues in Vista. Also, the ss of the old control panel makes it seem as if you're working on an older OS install...maybe a fresh install w/ latest chipset/gpu drivers will perk her up a bit.

EDIT: Ugh...late to the party.

Well, I've got it enabled, but it doesn't do much for Vista x64 w/ Crysis. I've had some mad nvlddmkm's, 7e's, and 0a's that have truly tested my frustration level. I think it's time I sucked it up and went back to XP for a few more months.

So true...wound up keeping myself up and going back to XP as the main os. I cannot believe how much more responsive, stable, and capable the os is. Not a single BSOD, no hotfixes so I can use the 4GB in Vista x64, SLI, or play games...just good ole' ugly a$$ XP.
