Hi guys,
Ive just bought a new systems worth of components and am having some difficulty getting it to work.
Any help i can get on the matter would be very appreciated!
System:
Q6600
2gb corsair ram
p35 MB
8800gt
Antec 182 case
Corsair HX620 PSU
arctic cooler 7
Samsung spinpoint 500gb HDD
dvd-rw
Now its probably me(dyslexic), but the instructions were really difficult to understand,
The problem i have had is:
WITH the 8pin power cable plugged in(as well as the 24 pin one) the computer powers up for about 1 Sec(all the fans spin briefly and the green light comes on) and then it stops and tries again a few seconds later.
WITHOUT the 8 pin connector plugged in, the computer seems to start up normally, except the the monitor doesn't register a signal..
This may be to do with the different connector i had to attach to the blue connector on my monitor(the 8800gt has two white ports and comes with adaptors) but im not really sure..
Also, there is a four pin power connector on the board that is described and being required as auxiliary power supply to the PCI slot, i plugged my psu into this as well with no joy.
I can only think that it is a cpu problem?
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what might be the problem?
