Built a HTPC(see sig) but I seem to be gearing more toward gaming with it. Still working on the gpu I want(probably 8800 gt), but is the 4600+ enough horsepower for the new games or is the gpu more impotant????
 
I think it will be plenty... most games are more gpu bound than cpu bound.

I think an 8800gt 512mb would be an excellent selection for your htpc. Heck, looks like the htpc will rival the gaming power of your other rig listed there.
 
4600+ & 8800GT 512 (@SSC clocks) right here... No Complaints. You won't win any bench contests but I get AVG 26 FPS on the Crysis time demo settings below...

No AA

I haven't actually checked what I get in game yet, but I bet it's better than AVG 26 FPS. It's a total joy to play :D
