8800GT shortages appear to be ending

They seem to be coming back in stock all over the place.. Retail, online, etc.. My guess is, prices will hold till about next Tuesday. Then these guys are going to look at all those cards just sitting around above MSRP and the GTS around the corner, and start selling the GT for a realistic price.

I was tempted to try and find an 8800gt, couldn't, then got in on that deal from dell for the MSI card. Then yesterday I was in Fry's, and they had evga and xfx cards, like 3 of each. They probably just didn't estimate the demand right for the initial shipments, no reason to think there's going to be some crazy long drought.

Hopefully they keep the shelves stocked. I've waiting for 'mine' to re-enter stock for Christmas. And maybe they'll bring the prices down a tad, despite the XMas rush.

I mean realistic as in MSRP.. There's a few in stock at $269 now, and 6 to choose from that are in stock.. Newegg I mean.. Tigerdirect has 7 in stock (cheapest is 300 bucks.)

To me, that says 'OK, we are getting these in, and they aren't selling out at our inflated prices any more, lets milk the suckers for a couple more days, then sell what's left for what we can.'

Realistic prices IMO means when prices stabilize within the pre-launch MSRP range which was $200 - $250
