I just built a new system.

gigabyte ga-p35-d3sl
q6600
2gb ddr 800
gf 8800gt

i was looking thru the cpu temperature and noticed that Core#3 is usually 10/15 degrees hotter then the other ones. That made me kinda worried.

I woke up this morning and checked the temperatures, after the comptuer being idle all night pretty much and core3 still were a lot higher then the other cores. I checked both on CompTemp and CPU-Z. I am still using the stock cooler, which i intend to upgrade soon.

Is that normal or my cpu is retarded? :(

Thanks

I had a similar issue. I re-seated the HSF and it remedied the situation. If the heat-spreader isn't flat you may need a tiny bit of extra thermal compound in order to counter that. But like Bloop said, it's not a big deal really.
