My G/F's Christmas Present, Shhhh

Asus Eee PC in the 8g pearl white flavor.

First off i must say this is a really nice pc. Super lite, nice battery life and she boots up pretty fast. Mu g/f was complaneing that her Dell 1150 was heavy and a turdball due to the 512mb of ram so i got here this along with a 4gig SD HC card "to store some system files" 2 gig jump drive "she only has a 128" 160gig laptop sata hdd in a enclosure and a laptop DVD-RW burner in a enclosure

Specs.

900mhz Dothon Celly
2gig of GSkill PC2 5300 "stock it was 1gig Adata PC25300
8 gig SSD "Mini PCIE"
802.11 B/G
webcam
bunch of outher stuff

Note the pic dosent have the battery installed. thats still in the box

I'll be picking one of these up for my self. I love the little thing and it has a lot of features for a tiny 2lb laptop. Also battery live is amazeing. 3 hours 20 min with the screen at 80% brightness cpu at 900mhz and the sound at 100%with wifi on. Anyone thinking about one of these should pic one up.

Note for those intrested. Surf models has lower mah batterys and no webcams. And some of the newer 4g's are not shipping with doors for ram accesse to upgrade the ram. To do this you will need to take the whole pc apart.

Thats pretty slick

Wife could use something like that instead of her beast of a laptop but the screen looks too small for her to use though.

I envy people with those little Mac books when they are traveling, they seem so easy to just carry around. If you duel booted mac/xp on a mac book, i would sit on it all day playing Garage Band, lol.

Just slap some jump drives in the bay for the SSD. some guy modded it for 16gigs of storage with a 4gig.

Update. I was preloading it for her "i love this lil pc im gonna buy one" and oc'ed it to 1ghz woot. running orthos on it right now lol. When i get mine i'll be giveing that celly some more voltage and seeing how high i can get it. I'll be rigging up some new cooling set up for it since i got a stock pile of fans and heatsinks and a CNC at work im shure i can make a nice little heatsink for it to help cool it.
