My Sony NEC Optiarc SATA Model AD-7170S-0B pooped today after trying to burn a DVD to it. After 5 discs... :bang head

Troubleshooting is no go, so I just need recommendations for a DVD drive that will do DL and is SATA for <$40 if possible. Black color greatly preferred :)

Newegg.com only

Samsung SH-S203 series. The N has lightscribe if that matters. The B is just fine. Only negative to the drive is that it is not a good quality scanner for CD's.

I have 4 Lite-On drives between two computers, 2 CD and 2 DVD. 1 CD and 1 DVD drive are around 2 years old, and have been working great since day one without any hiccups. I would recommend them. It has been the brand I have been doing in new builds for my clients also, and I haven't heard any problems with them.
