hey guys,
i know its old, but since i'm running caseless at the moment i decided to try and get some more performance out of my s939 system. (previously the best stable oc i ever got was something like 220x12 and supposedly it was because my cpu just didnt want to clock higher.)
right now i'm running at 2.7ghz (225x12) - so thats 300mhz over stock. the cpu seems to be fine, but prime95's torture test dies at the first step, saying there's a rounding error or the system freezes during the test. the interesting part is that memtest86 from my dfi board runs without errors for over half an hour.
what's causing prime95's torture test to freeze? i set this thread up in memory cuz i think my memory is the problem. if i'm wrong please correct me
settings :
fsb: 225 (plus a 12x multi = 225x12 = 2700)
ldt: 3.0x
cpu vid : 104% of normal, 1.41v
dram: 2.7v
2.5-3-3-6 1T/225 = 450mhz
on a side note, i forgot how much was too much for regular ddr ram when it comes to voltage. these days 2.1v is *high?* for ddr2 and i guess 2.0v for ddr3 is even worse..?
how much can i push my ocz tccd? i'm getting pretty good temps (see picture) on air.
-thanks in advance
