SM 2.0 Score 5877 Marks

SM 3.0 Score 5685 Marks

CPU Score 2938 Marks

so are they deacent?

I hope i can hit 13k in 06 but its better than the 9k i was getting on my amd rig lol.

OP your scores are spot on for ur system

Ouch... shows how much that X2 bottlenecks... and as much as people hate to admit it its true but not as apparent in games

Er, it's not as much an issue of the X2 bottlenecking, it's more a factor of 3dmark being a flawed benchmark which includes the CPU in the overall score. Yes, a C2D or C2Q would be faster, but not as much as the 3dmark score would lead one to believe.

like i said... the x2 bottlenecks... but it as not aparent in realworld performance... but its there.

So I shouldn't worry either for hitting a little over 10k with my Asus 8800GT 512 @ 1710/1770/2020 on my Opteron170 clocked @ 2.8GHz?

yea you should be fine lol. my 5600 @ 3.2ish and the 8800gt at 725/1820/955 i can only muster 11770. but i'm happy :).

X2 4600+ and an XFX extreme 8800GT getting 13391 here... 3Dmark 05.
Getting 8890 in 06.
I just can't make my cheap AMD go faster, but hey, I can play Crysis with most stuff high in a tweaked config at 40+ FPS, I aint complaining. I swear the 3dmark stuff is overly intel happy because no way is AMD's that much slower in real world applications.

My X2 3600+ and stock 256MB 8800GT gets me right smack on 10k. I still haven't finished overclocking the 8800GT yet

I wouldn't say it's overly Intel happy, but it is definitely way too CPU dependent considering it's a gfx benchmark. Intel CPU's just happen to be wiping the floor w/ AMD CPU's. Good thing is you don't need an overly powerful CPU to play games w/ high settings at high rez.

Games may make better use of the CPU in the future, but for now they are mainly GPU dependent.

Yeah true that, and my 4600+ isn't exactly the pinnacle of performance even for an AMD. Still almost doubled my scores from my 7600GT, and that wasn't slow to start with. :D

here are my scores with and without SLI

Q6600 @ 3.2GHz, 8800GT in SLI @ 700MHz, Vista x64:
3DMark Score 16003 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 6422 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 7397 Marks
CPU Score 4518 Marks

Q6600 @ 3.2GHz, single 8800GT 700MHz, Vista x64:
3DMark Score 12439 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 5127 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 5031 Marks
CPU Score 4460 Marks

3DMark Score 15194 3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 6367 Marks

SM 3.0 Score 5971 Marks

CPU Score 5606 Marks

Shot past 13k into 15k lol.

What is odd is that I have a E6400 @ 3.35ghz with a PNY card @ 690 core/ (think it was +100mhz or so shaders)/900 mem and I had ~12600 3dmark06.

I thought the quads got a lot higher scores than the dual cores? Especially considering you have 3.6ghz.

Do you have vista?

I think you should be another 1000 marks higher. Sorry I don't have my 3dmark06 score on hand, since I guess I didn't save it and I'm not at my desktop to test it again.
