Cool Just received my Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 retail chip

I can only provide teaser photos now as I'm currently installing it in the setup I have listed in my specs. I plan on doing extensive overclocking and benching over the weekend as well. For now, enjoy.

The heatsink really is that short, and it has the cheap aluminum base.

then intel needs to update the TDP for the cpu, since they are still listing it at 65watts. i assume that per same voltage and speed the tdp would fall into the 45-55 watt range..

less heat till you overclock them, then we'll see typical temperatures.

Out of curiosity what's your CPU score in 3DMark06 at stock speed please?

I'd like to do a comparison for myself.

I would like to see too. I want to see how the new SSE4.1 instructions do.
