Just flashed my 8KHA+ BIOS with the 8KHAL00.bin BIOS......

CPU was an XP1500 (1.33GHz), now running sweetly at XP1900+ (1.6GHz, 10*160). The 1/5th divider has kicked in nicely, and core temp is a lovely 41C:)

Memory is also considerably faster, PC2100 Crucial now running at 320MHz DDR.....

hehe i would post mine here too but i think i have posted them enough places so u must have seen them already

Nice work. Its good to see someone else using a lower end xp. I have a xp 1600 that does 1.7ghz easy. It saved me a ton of money instead of buying a higher end xp. I mean the whole thing of origanl overclocking was to get more out of your chip to save money back whena cpu upgrade was a fortune but then again an amd chip is so cheap i get it. There is no way that i can see paying an extra $120 for a chip that does what?...60mhz more. I realy think the 1600 or 1500 are the way to go.

I also have a 8KHA+ with the new bios and crucial memory and my scores are much the same as yours except MEMORY is way lower. Is there a setting in the bios I am missing to increase the mem scores??

Sandra CPU 4469/2217
Sandra MEM 623/705 ??????LOW??????
Multi media 8955/10329

At post my memory is displayed as 1600DDR running at 120
At my old setting of 12X133=1600Mhz mem is listed as 2100 at 133Mhz

?????

yeah it does seem the case that lower end xp chips over clock better by the fsb but since no one want to try to unlock a 200$ chip well never know what eiter of them can do till there out dated and people get desporit cause i dont want to screw up my athlon xp1900+

I am getting only like 830\879 or something on my memory scores, I have 2 256MB sticks of Crucial DDR set at CAS 2-2-2. I dont understand why these are so low. I have had the fsb up to 150 and didn't notice that much of an improvement, there was some but not to the effect of what those scores above are. Oh well, i'll just keep trying.

I found that at 160MHz FSB, with the DIMM clock set to match the FSB speed, there is a 3/4 divisor kicks in to the memory clock (so 160MHz FSB gives you a DIMM speed of 120MHz (PC1600)). Set the Memory speed to 133MHz, and it will jump back to 160MHz.....or 320MHz DDR if you like it that way!
