Ati video on nvidia chipset?

I'm wanting to upgrade and the card i like best for what i can afford is
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814102703
however my MB is the tforce 6100 939. I know it'd getting old, but i cant do a total upgrade. I could also use an upgraded cpu, but figure going from built-in gpu to stand alone card will net the better performance increase.

Long and short of it....will a ATI GPU work with an Nvidia chipset? If not what is the "best" nvidia option similar to the above mentioned video card?

with single card setups it doesnt matter what chipset your on.. the only difference is when you want to try to run cf or sli...btw nv has no gpu in the 100-150 range at that can compete with the 3000's. the 8600gt/gts are a joke,no really they are...

you really should just save up another 40 bucks and get a 2900GT or pro both will destroy the 36XX series.

for 20 dollars more you can get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161206
