4.8ghz on a LGA771 is not bad.. i must be in the wrong place, QUICK SOMEONE PINCH ME!!

back to reality, getting a server platform to oc like that is just SICK. WE have never had any form of ocing LGA771 cpus till skulltrail.. it might die with it as well.... makes me think i should put off fixing up my car and tring to get 4 quads for folding.. when i could do it on my gaming box instead...

Actually, if you look at the CPU-z...it is a 775...no multi processor. "Only" 4 cores as well.

skulltrail is a LGA771 platform you cant force LGA775 into that...

LGA775 is not made for dual cpu sockets...

I understand this, I was simply stating that the CPU-z screenshot is showing a 775 and 4 cores. It just makes me question whether it is a 771 board. I am not saying he is lying or anything of the sort.

i know your not saying he is lieing... we both know skulltrail we both know and use cpuz.. we only know cpu on a single cpu system.. if its setup the way i think it is you have to select processor #2 from that little drop down. as its going to show the number of threads cpu one can do and not add what cpu1/cpu2 do together.

ok so you got me started looking at cpuz closer look at this
http://www.firingsquad.com/media/hir.../images/08.jpg
the stepping/model stuff all matches in cpuz from the other 2 sites i posted up with cpuz ss's. 2 show 1.41, on xs 1.41.0, not sure if that plain 1.41 has be updated or not but i assume 1.41.0 is a beta cpuz. the interesting part is that back in sept for those cpuz shots they dont show ES, but in fuggers they do..

And it also shows Yorkfield

It also reports a X9770 Core2Quad...which is a 775:
http://www.gate2prices.dk/hardware/h...p?Kode=H000418

I'm lost...either that isn't reporting right or that isn't skulltrail

well only the xs post shows lga775,yorky but correctly shows 9775,not 9770

this one shows lga771 but no model other then Xeon
http://www.firingsquad.com/media/hir.../images/08.jpg
same for this one
http://www.hothardware.com/articleim...ulltrail_5.jpg

where do you see 9770? the only thing thowing me is that its a X not QX in the xs post. not like it is listed on the wiki or when intel talked about it months ago... wonder if they changed the name for it... *shrugs*

But it's not stable? You can't do much with that speed as it'll probably hang the moment you start games.

QFT. This is extremely impressive, especially seeing as its a server class board and cpu.

Ohhh believe me, me and my fellow SETI crunchers would have a freaking field day with this thing. Heck, the Folding guys would probably be creaming as well
