mobo for Q9450

Im waiting for the Q9450 to come out. What motherboard should I get. 680i or 780i? I plan to get a new GTS, and SLI it later down the road. Im looking for a good OC on video card cpu and ram.

The 680i does not even support the yorkfields so between those two, 780i.

Ok, lol. I heard about 3 way SLI. Is it true that it is only for GTX and ULTRA?

Yep it's true, only the GTX and the Ultra have enough sli connectors (2 instead of the usual 1). I currently have a 780i motherboard, had no problems with it so far, running everything very well. Currently trying to squeeze more out of my CPU, my FSB is at 460Mhz atm.

How much can you afford to spend on a mobo?

If you don't mind spending top dollar and waiting, I'd wait for the X48 and 790i chipsets to come out and see how those do.

Otherwise I'd go with a good X38 board.
