Can I mix 1 stick of 1gig and 1 stick of 2gig? Will dual channel still function? I have the Vostro 1500. Thanks.

While it isn't an ideal situation to mix them, it should work.

If you have both of them, all you can do is try it.

If you don't have one, are they both on the compatibility list for that computer?

i have 2x1gig in my laptop right now. I want to stick a stick of 2gig in there to make it 3gig so I can use vista again. I wanna play with the vista it originally came with. Othereise I guess I'll jsut replace it with 2x2gig

dual channel will function for the first 1 + 1GB, then will be in single channel for the final 1GB.
