Mobo choices...

I am upgrading from an Opteron 150 with 1Gb of DDR 400 & a 7800GT. I will be getting an E8400 & an 8800GT. I already have 4Gb of Kingston Hyper-X DDR 1066. I will not run SLI but I will probably be overclocking. I plan on running air with a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 for cooling.

I am stuck between the following mobo choices.

GA-EP35-DS4
GA-EP35-DS3P
or
GA-X38-DS4

Will I really see $40-$50 worth of performance out of the X38 board? If not, then what are the real differences between the other 2 besides $10?

Thanks in advance.

The X38 probably doesn't provide enough of a boost to be worth the price for you - unless you are going to run Crossfire the PCIe 2.0 is the only benefit. The -DS4 has the better northbridge cooling, which is why it is more expensive than the -DS3P. I have the P35-DS4 and it works great with the E8400.

X38 is for going with a CF setup, other wise get either the of the P35's. i would suggest the DS4 for the higher cpu PWM phase it has over the DS3P. either that or look at the Abit IP35-Pro.
