ultima 90 fan


found out that it will fit in my case with a little mod on the hard drive rail. what kind of fan do you recommend for that heatsink

The Ultima90 comes with clips for a 92mm fan and a 120mm fan. Have a look HERE for 120mm fan recommendations.

And if you do use a 120mm fan, I'd LOVE to have your 92mm clips Thermalright wants $7 for a pair, which seems a bit much for 2 pieces of wire..

Oh yeah.. a 120mm fan on that HS sticks up a good bit above the top, so you might be stuck with a 92mm fan. I threw a NMB-NAT/Panaflo/whatever medium flow on there, works fine. I think it's an M1A-BX or something..

I have the Ultima 90 in my Micro Fly and a 90x38mm fan cools better than a 120x38mm. The 120mm is just wasted airflow as not all of it is directed at the cooling fins. I snagged mine from a Dell server HS assembly that my company was throwing out.
