Team Xtreem RMA

Just received my set of Team Xtreem 2X1GB PC2-8000 D9GMH, direct shipped from Team in San Jose, ordered through TankGuys. The set would not post, so after much troubleshooting, I tried each stick individually. One stick works fine, the other one is doa. I set up an rma with Team, and have to send the complete set back. I have been following several forums that have threads on the many issues and rma's for this type of ram. Crucial Ballistix have a terrible record, but it seems you can find problem reports on any given brand of this ram. I thought I would be safe going to Team memory but if they can't even check for dead sticks before they ship them out, it doesn't look too good. Based on this, I can only wonder: will the replacement set work, and if it does, when is it going to fail? I don't intend to get into the multiple rma game, it just becomes too expensive to pay the shipping and duty costs each time. Any other experiences with Team ram, or a suitable alternative

Teamgroup has some of the best ram. I bought a pair of the 3-4-4-8 sticks from Tank guys over two years ago. 1 of the sticks were dead. Contact them, I got an advanced RMA (they don't do them anymore, after some guy ripped them off), they sent me higher binned, 3-3-3-6 sticks in replacement, and I've been running them at over 1000Mhz for a while now.

They have had a good reputation for a long time now. Apparently they ship some of their ram less heatspreaders, which would be good for those who want to verify if it's D9GMH, GKX, etc. and to fit custom heatspreaders. Mine had the stock Team spreaders on them, although TankGuys said they wouldn't. Your 3-3-3-6 is a very good set, mine are only rated @5-5-5-15. Will post my results when I get the rma back, hopefully by next weekend

Received the new set from Team. So far so good, both sticks working. I went easy at first, 5-5-5-15. Set it to 4-4-4-11, runs fine at those timings at a fsb of 445. Currently @467x9, I relaxed the timings again to 5-5-5-15. Nice ram
