Does anyone know what the difference between the GA-X38-DQ6 and the GA-EX38-DQ6 is?

Energy saver or not, the S3 function on the X38-DS4 does not work properly. I have yet to see anyone post that it works for them. I don't know about the DQ6 series. This seems to be a bios issue, but I wasn't about to wait around to see if gigabyte could fix it or not.

similar issue, different board. i noticed that S3 doesn't work with my Abit IP35-Pro. when i wake the computer, it loses my PATA hard drive and i have to restart to get it back. no problems with SATA drives though. no big deal, i have my machine set so it won't sleep now...it just folds 24/7.

Ah ok, I let my machine go into sleep mode and it started up a couple of times correctly but the last time I tried it, it just kept cycling on and off while never actually bringing windows back up. I turned off the PSU and then turned it back on and it managed to come out of sleep ok but after that, I disabled it so I didn't have to hassle with it again. I haven't tried it with my F3 bios, but the notes didn't mention anything about sleep mode.
