its official.....mac pro's rock the folding world

just logged into work to see how my 3ghz, 4gb monster was performing

and guess what its been up to!!!
1st instance: 2785ppd
2nd instance: 2779ppd
total ppd: 5564 points per day

no messing about with overclocking, not secret flags, just straight out the box with a copy of InCrease installed

you have got to love the apple

with two quads...i find that isnt too huge lol...a single overclocked quad gets around 4k...i think you need to push it to 8k

nothing to do with apple, but the hardware below......... and that folding at home is better optimized for *nix.

Have you considered running 4 instances of Ubuntu 64 SMP Folding? I calculated that to do over 7k ppd based on some numbers I found using my Windows Quad....

Of note: The Mac Pro in my sig hasn't been purchased yet, I hope to do so before the end of March at last...

Thanks guys.....

I cant do anything to clever with these machines (4 instances of linux etc etc), these are design workstations, so need to be rock solid, running standard software.

I have got 2 of the beasts erroring with 0x errors if anyone has any input....

The folding folder got moved/cloned? The account password was changed or is not signed into?

Hard to tell without seeing all the detailed data. Even then it's dodgy - never owned an Apple.

Remove and re-install maybe?
