Corsair XMS2 ($25) or OCZ SLI ($20) 2x1GB 6400's?

Im looking at 2 killer deals on some RAM for a new budget gaming rig Im building for a customer.

Corsair XMS2 6400 2x1GB for $25 AR and Promo code (EMCADBJAC)

OR

OCZ SLI 6400 2x1GB for $20 AR and GCO

I'm used to Ballistix, but I'm not too keen on getting the 1-sided sticks.

Anybody got any experience w/ these modules?

Edit: This will be in an IP35-E if it makes a difference.

OCZ lifetime warranty on ram sounds good.

Will it be overclocked? I don't know which of those oc better but if it won't be oc'd, or only moderately and you won't need more than 400 FSB I'd go with the OCZs. Cheaper and no MIR to wait on.

Corsair. Compatibility resasons. There are some Asus boards and others that do not work with OCZ ram sometimes and once in a blue moon. Plus my corsair always seem to run cooler than my OCZ or Crucial units.

Yes. I'm planning on an e6750 setup if I can find one used for $135-140. I'd like to have it running 3.6-3.8GHz (or more!), and that'll put the RAM at 900-950. I'm also going to see what the RAM will do w/ dividers, but I'll be content w/ 1:1 if nothing higher works well. This rig is for a family member, and I'm going to fully tweak it!

This'll be in an Abit IP35-E ($60) most likely. It seems to be the best bang4$ right now. I kinda want a refurb P5K-E/Wi-Fi ($100), b/c my brother-in-law is using wireless right now. He's using a USB Wi-Fi adapter on his old PC, and built-in Wi-Fi would be a little nicer I think, but he can just re-use the adapter and save $40 IMO.

How about OCZ RAM in this Abit board? Any experience? Compatibility list anyone? I can't find one online yet.

I wonder if they'll give me different sticks for free if these don't work in my board?

I'm leaning toward OCZ at this point, but I'd still like some more opinions. I know it doesn't help performance that much, but they are 1T, and cheaper!

Couldn't wait...went w/ OCZ. Hopefully, I won't have any problems.

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.

Please post back with your RAM OC on those OCZ's. I'm curious how they'll compare to my Corsair in the same board.
I'd also like a link to your OC thread if/when you make one!

The Q6600 is running 378x9 since I couldn't get a decent FSB out of the board (it started sputtering at 400 MHz). RAM was at 1.2:1 (907 MHz) @ 4-4-4-12 with 2.2vDIMM (stock is 2.1v). The 1.25:1 ratio it's running now needed loosening to 4-5-5-15. I did get to windows at 1.5:1 (1134 MHz) @ 5-5-5-18 using 2.3vDIMM. CPU-Z & CoreTemp ran fine and I ran 4xPrime95 for a few minutes but I didn't test beyond that to see if it was really stable. Having just spent two days testing I needed to fold and crunch for awhile. I'll go back to testing mid-week and see if that 1134 MHz works ...

Just got reminded of this thread. I threw these in my main rig, and do do pretty well...not like my Tracer's, but not bad at all for $20. They ran at 900 4-4-4-12, 1125 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2v. I didn't try to max them at each CAS...I just wanted to compare them to my Tracer's w/o fiddling in the BIOS too much.

I've got some more info jotted down at home. I'll update later.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Update edit:

900 2.2v 4-4-4-4-12 4-35-7-10-12-3-7-5-4-2T
1080 2.2v 5-5-5-5-15 Auto
1125 2.2v 5-5-5-5-15 5-56-8-15-14-6-8-6-5-2T (but I didn't tweak much...plus, I don't think this is 24/7 stable)

Can't beat it for $20!
