Vista 64-bit rocks!

I recently tried Vista 32-bit and had nothing but problems such as Driver issues, performance issues, 32-bit would not use all of my ram and many more problems LOL.

It has been a few days now and I love Vista 64-bit!!
I have not had a single driver issue, I have yet to find a game that doesnt work as well or better then in XP, all of my 4GB of ram is used.

My 3dmark06 score went up from what I was getting in Vista 32-bit.

I do not see how it could be possible but I swear my system is performing better then it was in XP 32-bit. Maybe the 64-bit ?

I noticed a slight increase in overall performance going from 32bit Vista to 64bit Vista. I didn't do any benchmarks though. I'm not sure if it uses the same kernel or anything, maybe it has better optimizations?

Vista 32bit for me was like choppy. Like walking in sand.
Vista 64bit for me is like butter. Smooth clean, i love vista 64.

I would have to echo everything that has been said here. When I installed Vista X86, it was ok, but still slugish. It got better when I upgraded the system, but only marginally better. When I installed X64, it worked great no problems and that was with only 2 Gb of memory installed.

I didn't notice a bit of difference going from Vista32 to Vista64. Somebody could have changed it over while I was at work, and I wouldn't have known until I saw all 4gb of ram being used :^P

Vista of both flavors has been good to me, and I prefer it to XP by far. If only they'd get the folder view issue fixed...

Could it be that MS is more strict on drivers for 64-bit?

If you really want to see it fly, run it with 8GB of memory and a 3GHz C2D processor. A Raptor won't hurt either

Seriously, my wife noticed it right away when I went from 4GB to 8GB. Things just open snappier and run smoother.

Vista64 does indeed 'rock'... lol!

I don't think you even need 8GB to see the performance difference either. Just get a Q6600 and overclock it, everything is SMOOTH.

Yeah...I won't run another Microsoft 32-Bit OS again... The Vista x64 seen here is pretty good... Much better crash control and responsiveness than XP.

I run it with no page file, it loves my 8 GB of ram, I also put the OS on two 320Gb seagate drives (raid 0) , and all is well

I swear it feels 2x as fast as XP.

No Page File will do that to you
Raided drives don't hurt either.

Glad to know, I'm glad to hear 64 is better than 32bit, guess I'll have to add more RAM later.

Thanks for this thread NettieZoom. Vista 32bit has been leaving a bitter taste in my mouth for over a year now, and this gives me something else to consider before dumping this OS for XP again.

i must say i'm really happy with vista 64.. but i'll admit that the first time i installed it it lasted less than a day before i went back to 32.. not sure if it was a bad install or what but it was very choppy.. this time around is going great and runs like a charm.. and from today it's running on 8 gigs...
