LOL, I don't like either.

I use a White Water & kick butt pump.

I have an Apogee on one C2D & a WW on the other C2D.
the WW rocks.

Make sure you get either a Dual or Triple rad. with atleast 80 cfm fans.
Use a controler on them for noise reduction too.

storm is for old bare-die cpus and not suited for newer cpu's with an ihs, tdx is ok, personnally I like d-tek the best, but a tdx isn't to bad

I was disappointed with the original TDX and how it wore over time. If the OP wants to spend money, and stay with the basic TDX design, the MC is a great old-skool block with support for qcores.

ok well the blocks i have that I could use on my C2D and down the line a q6600 are:

White Water LE Copper Topped CPU water-block D-TEK

Swiftech Storm G4 ( i think its dam near the same as old storm looks different)

and the TDX.

as of right now I have the TDX on the C2D thats lapped and I think i can get lower temps with a better block. probleming being I dont have the money to buy a new swiftech GT or GTX.

so what im looking for is better with out spending any money right now.

They will probably all perform similarly. As was stated they were designed for bare cores. I would go with the Storm though as that was the best out of those three.

being made for a single core chip, the TDX says its for a C2D.

so if i run with the storm what storm? the swiftech or the G4? like i said they are dam near the same. the old g4 just sits a little higher. it was made by someone I cant remember who.

this is the linky for the old G4

from this read and clicking on the
Little River Storm G4

Dangerden TDX (the one shown here is a little different then mine)

Little River Whitewater (again little different then mine)

looks like the G4 is the best way to go.

so i think i will have to mount up the swiftech G4 unless u all think the old G4 would be better.

For what it's worth, the Storm held up reasonably well in this review (of another block) by fellow OCF member Liquid3D. It doesn't appear to me that the statement that it is not suited for CPUs with IHS is valid.
