I read this article and see that OverDrive 3.0 can help overclock the processor, and AMD "keeps a low profile when it comes to disclosing any details about the OverDrive technology", so does anyone have any speculation on how using the southbridge (SB780) will help? Will this allow you to overclock each core individually, and some cores overclock more?

Not a very impressive article... I'm not sure how their secret overdriving south bridge technology works but I would love to see some benches and buyer-based tests/reviews.

What is great, the up and coming AM3 chips have been confirmed to work with AM2+ and DDr2 and AM3 with DDr3. http://forums.amd.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=318&threadid=94833&startpage=1

From what I've learned about the inner workings, the DDR3 support is already there, just not turned on. If you were to magically turn it on, it would only work at extended DDR2 speeds. The good news is we can use these boards until we are ready for DDR3. The other good thing is DDR2 still rules but it's days are numbered buy the intel folks getting the Neha. Until then enjoy the low prices of DDR2.

Deneb of course will be AM2+ as it is still designed for the Spider platform. Structurally the chip even looks like the Agena but has that big cache which makes the chip longer.

Hydra will change things a bit with an update to the transistors and more goodies.
