When you install BOINC it asks you to pick a project (SETI) and asks for a user name/password (carefull, be sure to pick new user or existing user, mistake here is a pain).

Thanks for reviving this thread - I hadn't had time this morning to search for it!

I must admit I was very skeptical when you first started this thread. I didn't think we would ever pass the KWSN.
But you were right!

Dont forget we are number 1 in KICKING ass! IIRC, We are (and have been for a long time) the highest producing team with regards to RAC/active members^-1. I 'blame' this entirely on the fact we are motivated, and have a strong sense of community.

Ive been spying on other SETI team forums - none are quite like OCF

Onwards to #3 RAC!

Just got in from the rig and went through the farm. Found my Q6600 system running at stock speed due to the frigging electric company blinking the power so much lately the board got confused and went to default bootup mode. So I got it back up to full speed again, but I still have 1 problem with a few rigs. I had to put a damn password on my machines to run the smp folding client for the chimp challenge and now that it's over and I removed the passwords, I still have 3 machines that won't auto login and just sit at the login screen waiting for someone to click the frigging login icon on xp. IIRC, I will have to install a powertoy to be able to automatically login again. I will be checking that out here in a little bit.

BTW Mudd, assuming you dont have to login to a domain, you can use this step to auto login in winxp pro/home (*shudders* @ home)

Start->Run->control userpasswords2->untick "users must enter a u/n and p/w to use this pc"->apply->type the admin password into the password boxes

I pretty much got them running the way I want them now, Careface. I just dropped TweakUI on them, which makes auto-login super easy to set up. All is well back on the farm now. I do have 1 machine that has a crippled login that I have to manually log in any time I boot but that's an old Win2000 install that is very long in the tooth. So I will probably just reformat that drive and put a fresh install of 2000 back on it.

Wicked, well done team . Hey eagle, we should do something for our 10year anniversary next year. Obviously talk about it closer to the time, but what do you think?

Ah sweet TweakUI is a brilliant tool. I should probably reinstall it at some point, though as my pc is never off, just never bothered >_<

We should probably drop it onto our calendars now, with a 3 month advance reminder What would we do without outlook and its calendar tool?

I wish this worked! Seriously, I have dozens of memos on my cellphone which I have on me 24/7 (yes, even when I sleep ), but do you think I can remember to check my memos?

Thankfully I have been blessed with a decent-ish memory.. as long as I can relate the information to numbers/sounds

Yahoo! calendar Set a repeating event from 3 months before, ending on the actual day, and have it send you a reminder 1 day in advance and 12 hours in advance. Two emails a day for 3 months ought to stick in your memory
