Question problem with laptop sound

hey guys please help if you can...

my wife has a toshiba satelite p105. her sound stopped working after an update. i tried rolling back the driver and reinstalling it, but hat doesn't work...the only way i can get sound is going to device manager and check for new hardware. once i do that, the sound is fine, but once i restart the problem comes back.

any ideas how to fix this?

thanks!

Nuke the driver/software for the card, go to the Toshiba support site (www.support.toshiba.com) and get the newest driver.

Whatever you do, do NOT call tech support, they are the most worthless techs in existence, never get anything done, etc. Can you tell that I've been fighting with them for over 2 years and just finally got a working laptop and I fixed it myself?

lol trying that now, been reading MANY forums...it seems this is a very common problem. someone claims their tech support told them they should have gotten XP. that's great, but how do we fix crappy $h!$ta problems?

ps..ok i finally found a working driver after about 6 tries....thanks for the reply!!

PROBLEM SOLVED!!
