Please help me setup dual monitors, having problems.

Right now I'm using a computer with a 9800 pro, it has one VGA connection and one DVI connection on the card.

I've got two monitors: 1) Optiquest 20' 1680x1050, 2) Acer 19" 1440x900

I connect both monitors, start the computer, and both monitors show the bootup screen. Windows bars load, then once desktop comes on, the secondary monitor loses video signal, regardless of which monitor I use as secondary.

Cables are hooked up to the monitors with VGA, and to the video card one connects as a DVI-I and one as VGA.

I did everything in display settings, nada.
Not sure what to do, the video card supports dual monitor use.

For anyone else with the same problem that finds the thread usually the best bet is to plug both monitors in, enable your preferred multihead mode in videocard settings, and then reboot and configure each monitor seperately in windows making sure to tick "extend my desktop onto this screen" for non-clone setups.
