Easy way to fix SP3 reboot loop before it happens?

We've got about 15 HP computers where I work that have XP on them. We are going to try and install SP3 on them. Is there an easy way to find and fix the reboot loop problem that might be on them before trying to install it?

So you're trying to fix a problem that may or may not... but so far hasn't happened?

No.

I'm trying to find out if any of our HP computers have this known problem before we install SP3:

http://www.computerworld.com/action/...icleId=9085358

And if they do have it, then the best way to fix it before SP3 is installed.

Because this is a business environment that can't afford a lot of downtime, we would rather avoid a problem than clean up the mess afterwards...

Ahhh! Now I gotcha. The HP problem. There's supposed to be a patch for that.

Are they AMD machines or Intel? If they are AMD, then you may have a problem. I saw an article on The Inquirer that linked to a fix. If they are Intel, then you dont have a problem (unless they are an Asus board).
