potentially stupid question :/

Hi, I am upgrading the system in my sig (the video card and memory) and I am wondering if you can mix types of memory or if I need to buy the same model as the pair I have in there already?

Many thanks in advance and sorry if this is retarded, I am just unsure how capable the motherboard is at detecting different memory.

I would try to stick with adding what you already have if you can find it in order to achieve accurate timings amongst the memory.
