I am setting up a small network for a local day care. I have one D-Link DES-1228P 24 port switch which controls the eventual 5-8 DWL-3140AP connect to it. While there is always a possibility for change, I doubt they will exceed the use of 12 ports on the switch as they will be using the wireless most of the time with laptops.

However I would like to install a small patch panel to keep the cabling neater and more proper. I know how they work and what their purpose is for, but what I do not know is a brand I should look at. I would like it to be a wall mount type as they don't have a rack. There is a slight chance we might purchase a 5-10U wall mount type of enclosure later on.

So far I am liking the Tripp Lite 12-Port panel and the Belkin 12-Port panel. However I am open and looking for further suggestions.

Thanks,

This is the classifieds. It would get more of a response in the Networking section I would think. :eh?: I would ask a mod to move it for you.

Oh crap, didn't mean to do that, was looking for "Internet, Networking, and Security" some how got classifieds

tripp-lite 24 port

hell, at that price, id buy 2 24's for future expansion, then again, what is your budget? you will need a 110 punch down to get those cables set in after all :)

edit : if you want to buy a rackmount, a 2 post like this would be more then enough, just need to bolt it into the ground is all :)

Yep Panduit makes panels as well that are great.

I'd buy them except Signamax is cheapest. ;)

yeah :) i like the panduit patches, we have 16 pair fiber patches on all of our floors + a big massive 48 pair panel up at the network core at work :)

we're only running 2-3 pair per floor tho, every fiber is terminated and not every fiber is connected

i think we ran 8 pair to each floor (we have 7 floors)
