I'm soo tempted but I think I'll wait about a month and see how prices play out (hopefully not upwards  ) and how GDDR5 variants perform.

I'll probably do the same, but my card will most likely drop down a bit. Maybe we'll see some rebates for the 4850 though. :) If prices go up I'll just stick with my 8800GT.

i really want to try ati again but now a 9800GTX+ is going to be 199/220 so i dont know what to do now :p

Yea and I told myself I'd keep my 8800GTS 512 until next summer...lol.

I told myself I'd keep my 8800GT for at least 3-4 years. >.>; My ATi 9800 lasted me 5 years. :D

Any news on actual improvements on that card or is it just gonna be OC'd?

So the 9800GTX+ is the same 65nm 9800GTX card, just the OC version. In the positive light, people now get the $320 cards for $220, but in the negative light, people will have to wait for the tweaked G92 for this July.

so my next card with be either 4850 or 9800GTX i guess :D

The Powercolor RAM runs faster then the rest. Most are a hair under 2GHz, the Powercolor is 2.2GHz. I hear the Sapphire has the same clock speeds as the Powercolor, but I can't confirm that yet.

the diamond 4850's should be able to be SLI'd on nvidia mobos =)

and 2 months ago when i was telling you guys this about diamond, the nvidia boys were sayin ' why would a buy ati over nvidia? why would i even want to do that? i think its pretty obvious now =)

You have a link to that? I believe Diamond had a driver for it, but it was developed for their own interior testing, and could not possibly be legally released to the public.

Why would anyone want to SLI these cards on an NV mobo when Crossfire is fully supported on Intel chipsets? :p

for the guys that presently own a nvidia mobo that are happy with it, and would rather buy video cards only and not a whole new setup =)

"In a document supplied to us we can now inform you about the next step for Diamond; xDNA. xDNA is a platform that enables you to run a CrossFire setup on any chipset, and that includes NVIDIA chipsets. You can pick pretty much any motherboard with any socket, fit it with two Diamond Radeon cards and run CrossFire on it using Diamond's xDNA technology.'

That's a rather old article, I haven't heard anything about that lately. However if it works then :santa:
