High temps on my wolfdale

I have my wolfdale under a ninja and it's running abnormally hot. It's hitting 64 degrees at 3Ghz with stock voltage. I took the reading with Core temp. I thought that I heard that you have to read the temperature differently, Is this true

Coretemp just assumes a Tj max of 105c whereas something like Realtemp assumes 95c. You can use Realtemp or just take 10c off your Coretemp readings. I think there is an option with the latest Coretemp program that you can manually set what you believe to be the Tj max is.

I was personally hitting 65c (coretemp) with my E8400 and the stock HSF under load. Using a TRUE + MX2 I got this down to 52c (coretemp) at load. You can check your HSF seating, a better TIM / application or increased airflow to try to reduce temps a bit.

-10 so 54C full load, not too bad but could be a bad mount possibly, or auto is giving it alot of stock voltage.

How about 54 degrees load at 3.8Ghz and 1.280 Volts. My room cooled down a little bit and it made a huge difference

Define "safe".

On load, everyday temps that don't pose a threat to the processor. I would like this thing to be able to stay at 4Ghz for at least 6 months. When does electrostatic migration start

There is no way to know how long the processor will last, all of them are different and I have yet to hear of one dying. I would suggest keeping it 20c from TJMax if possible, more if you want to be "safe". Do not refer to them by what it shows, it isn't a known value, distance to TJMax is
