Newegg for cars?

Is there a car-parts retailer on the internet that might be similar in quality to newegg or something? I'm trying to squash a problem I'm having with my Ranger and it requires me to buy some new o2 sensors. Anyone have any experience with online car-part retailers?

I don't know about ford parts, but I purchase many parts from erievovo.com/eeuroparts.com/fcpgroton.com

Find a forum for Ford Rangers and see what the members there recommend. That's how I found my suppliers.

I also recommend jegs as my father has used them a few times in the past and they were fairly decent with customer service. I also like Advanced Auto Parts (although not online) they have decent prices on parts, but if they don't have the part in stock they can have it special ordered and at the location in two days. (This came in very handy when we were fixing a '88 Mitsubishi 2wd Pickup)

You may aswell go to a local motor factors, as the part you receive maybe an incompatible part, if the place is local, this makes it a lot easier to return, and beleive me that can happen alot.

If his ranger is a similar year as mine 14 won't even get near 1 o2 sensor let alone all 3 that are in mine. they're about $60 a piece.

To the OP.... Check out http://www.therangerstation.com to find out anything you need to know about rangers.

http://rockauto.com/, the best internet car parts place ever.

Here is a currently good till 8/5/08 discount code, I think its good for 5% off.
1074273891790

Redid the entire front brakes(pads, calipers, rotors, new bearings...) on my RX-7 for about half what I would have paid at a local store, and was able to buy the higher quality parts. Had all the parts in less then 3 days after ordering.

summitracing.com is pretty good

definitely buy the o2 sensor online as it will be MUCH MUCH cheaper than any retail store... and do it yourself... i had to replace an o2 sensor on my 2001 chevy 2500hd 4x4 and its easier than a changing a spark plug. its unscrew old o2 sensor unplug it, then reverse process with the new one.... a bad pre cat o2 sensor will REALLY screw with stuff and completly screw engine performance... its super super easy (i take it you know which sensor is bad, if not grab an OBD2 reader, harbor frieght has them cheap.)

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=94168

it will tell you a code then you look it up in the supplied book, and if it says something like Bad oxygen sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 that means Driver side Before catalytic converter.... bank 2 is passenger side, and sensor 2 is after cat... this is at least for chevy but stuff like this is all generic codes so it should be the same for pretty much every vehicle. its so easy with these new fangled cars with computers, they tell you whats wrong, my 79 jeep... pff... just got done doing a head gasket job and ignition upgrade on that thing haha! gah i love cars trucks and dirtbikes! oh and computers

buy the universal o2 sensor. It's the same thing, but you need to cut and strip two wires

It's like 16 bucks

the site sun put up has ranger specific for about 30 a piece which is way better than the 60 i've been able to find. I may actually replace mine soon at that price since it's needed done for about 2 yrs lol.

depending which sensor it is, you might've been clogging your cat for a while.

also how did you pass emissions? You probably live in a lucky state :/

no emissions here, in ohio it's on a county level whether you have e-check or not.

i would be careful with buying cheepo parts online, more often than not your getting whats your paying for, something stupidly cheap.
and it never pays off to go with universal parts.

generaly i never buy the parts off the internet unless i cant find them locally because its the same cost for a decent quality part.

Dude it's an oxygen sensor. With the universal being about $15 and the OEM being over 60, even if it fails every three years it's still worth it., and it's just an oxygen sensor, it won't fail every year.

I'll take the parts from RockAuto any day over the "Built to last DuraCrap" they sell at Autozone and the likes. The internet for car parts is just like the internet is for computer parts. Better selection and better pricing online.

cats are for suckers. even when Colorado had emission laws i still took mine off fixed it stuck it back on a passed with out a problem.

My last 3 cars i have "fixed" them and NEVER had a problem.

I know on my newest car i have been getting a error bout a clogged cat i fixed that real quick but have still been getting the error. so i know its a bad o2 sensor. I would check your cat before you spend the money.

if you're going to delete your cat, atleast sell it, it's probably worth 60 or more.

Also, those who believe in global warming probably think you're a jerk.
