That would be a bit of an overkill if you ask me, I would grab a 1gb 4850 any day though, maybe 2 for CF

Lots of PR about "more memory = more bettAH" but in reality, there are only a scant few situations where 1Gb gets used over 512mb... Essentially ALL of those cases where 1Gb comes in handy is either a severely modded game (texture replacements) or else some combination of stupidly high resolutions and/or huge amounts of AA (mainly super-sampling methods)

A 4870x2 2Gb makes sense. A single 4850 2Gb doesn't.

This would only be a great buy if you do maya or other 3d work. You prob can flash this to a fire gl on the cheap

1GB maybe, but that's pushing it. 2GB is pointless for anything but modeling applications.
Reminds me of the 1GB X800XL.
