I'll be adding a PCI slot fan to pull air from my GPU fan as well as another case fan, so I'll be needing a fan controller. I'm looking at these three at three at the moment:

I don't need anything crazy, but also don't want to cheap out.

Any thoughts/comments on these or any others you have would be appreciated.

Also, I would like to add, I don't really need any fancy monitoring of temps either as I'll be monitoring my CPU temp separately and that's all I really care about at this point (as I don't stress my GPU nearly hard at all and I undervolt my memory).

Yea, apparently they are bright beyond belief. Any DIY links of people soldering up a resistor in-line or something?

I use the sunbeam as well, but have been too lazy to solder the resistors in; but I have my computer out of sight underneath the desk, so any bleeding light has been blocked with "kneeded-eraser."

Tutorials for the soldering of resistors for the sunbeam can be found at this link:

Good luck,

PS - the link is correct, and very useful.

I'd suggest you get that controller from Jab-Tech as it's the cheapest there. The LED Mod can be found here. I highly suggest you take the controller apart before you start the mod. It's MUCHO easier that way and will save you time and heartache. There's only a couple screws holding the board on the case and then the nuts around the knobs. Also the LED's have some plastic clips around them that need to come off. Use the 22k resistors 1/4 or 1/2w. All in all, it should only take you 1/2 hour for EVERYTHING.

I haven't found the LEDs to be too annoying. I just keep my computer pointed away from my face ;)
