Which temp should I believe?

I recently purchased a scythe kama master fan controller and temperature monitor. i already had to replace 2 temp probes because they died. now between hardware and software i have totally different temperatures. in my bios my cpu temp shown and the one on my controller are only about 3 degrees difference between them. when i check my cpu temp in h/w monitor, core temp, and speed fan my cpu always reads about 10 degrees higher than what my fan controller says. so what is accurate? i figure the fan controller was accurate but i left prime 95 running last night and my computer was off when i woke up. i would have to believe this was due to temp but it seemed to be running stably under 45C. also my n/b temp seems to be 10c warmer than my s/b. this is also according to my fan controller. is that normal? i did just put a thermal take spirit on the n/b and im just wondering if maybe its not seated correctly. by the way my comp is oc'd to 3.0ghz.

Where did you place the fan controller temp probes?

The NB is always hotter than the SB.

i placed under the foam ring on the spirit II with the tip just just touching the chip. the cpu sensor is sitting on the very edge of the processor on top of the lower lip. s/b probe is in the heatsink fins

What temps under load does the controller and coretemp report?

Not sure about Intel Chipsets, but Everest will give you a fairly accurate temp for SPP(nb) temperature. I know they had problems getting support from Nvidia when they were trying to find out how to monitor the Nb, but they figured out a way to get it close. The MCP(sb) should be quite accurate.
