I'm planning on getting an E8400 and try to overclock it to (Or close to) 4Ghz, and I also intend to keep this RAM for at least another CPU upgrade in the future, that's why I've opted for the PC8500 speed.

Are there any significant differences between these 2 models? I'm leaning towards Corsair, since it's sort of a favorite brand of mine, but if I can save those $40~ish dollars then I'm glad as well!

What should I note in the differences between these two?

Thanks.

unless theres been a ic revision with one or the other they both run powerchip ics.they should both top out around the same speed.id go with the cheaper of the two.

There are different revisions of Corsiar Dominators. At stock setting gskill and corsair should give you similar level of performance. Corsair comes with a memory cooler. People reported good results with Gskills. The thing that turns me off about skill is their website and chance of hard rma if ever needed.

I got the G.Skills, and wow, they ARE damn pretty!

Thanks for the replies guys :)

they will probably have a revision sooner or later.the powerchip ics they use now seem to be the most widespread ddr2 1066 2gb ics right now tho.so they will likely stick with them until availability becomes a problem(thats my theory at least lol).ive heard mixed results about those corsair 8500s.thats a drag that yours arent living up to expectations :(
