Hey there guys.

Im looking for a recommendation for a headset/mic combo to use with a computer.

The intended purpose is for gaming. I have gaming sessions that sometimes will last 10+ hours and want something that fits these requirements.

1. COMFORTABLE!

2. Good audio quality for both in game sound as well as speech. I use ventrilo for communicating with players on a regular basis.

3. Preferably a low profile/single ear/clip on type unit. This requirement is not firm if the headset is very comfortable.

4. Wireless/wired doesnt matter much. I just want comfort/quality

Can be either USB, or standard audio jack connection. I have plenty of extra external USB ports as well as my mobo HD audio setup to a top case panel.

Thanks!

I can't really give you any personal recommendations, the cheap pair I had hurt my ears after a few hours. The 'Headphone' sticky has lots of options and great background info.

Try going with a Koss SB40 (I recently ordered a pair and they're going to show up thursday, so no personal experience yet)

I was looking around on a few different forums (mostly the [H]ard|forums) and apparently these are one of the better headsets you can get.

Anything greater in sound quality will come from headphones, but then you'll be missing a mic (If you go that route go with http://computers.pricegrabber.com/microphones-headsets/m/4422473/ )
Something like Audio Techina A700's (or A900's) http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/headphones/c946e97b349766d2/index.html/

Though If a headset is a must you could go with the Sennheiser PC350 http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PC-350-Gaming-Headset/dp/B0012XFDWO
I guess it all really depends on how much your willing to spend.

That's why I wanted to know his budget... Sennheiser PC350 are pretty much the best headset/mic combo you can get. Otherwise it's reccomended to go with separate headhphones and a cheap mic. I just use a cheap one-ear headset and sling it around my neck with the mic pointed up. Check out the Sennheiser HD555 or Sony MDR-V6 for headphones.
