I am fixing a friend's laptop, it's a HP zv6100 with an Athlon 64 3200+, 512MB RAM, and an 80GB HDD. She claims it got a virus that caused just a black screen after the HP POST screen but before booting into Windows.

HP zv6123cl

I have ran an HDD Test-Passed
MemTest86-Passed

I wiped the hard drive with DBAN earlier today. And after that, I tried installing XP, it will go through a little bit of the setup but hangs at the blue screen that says "Setup is starting Windows." I have tried over and over only to have the same thing happen. Before I started MemTest86 in its own CD(ISO burned), I tried UBCD and it just kept scrolling through something that said "...BIOS broken" then brought me to a black screen.

I am about to go nuts here... Any ideas?

Thanks
