If my friend was not second-handing me his 4870, I'd be all over this. Crazy deals. Crossfire 4850's for $280? That's better than GTX280 performance for $180 less!

Math check: GTX280 = $390 - $280 = $110.

Also comparing dual cards to single but that's another story :)
 
Nice deals, the gpu competition is so awesome right now. Intel needs to get in there and make prices even lower! ;)

Newegg has probably a half dozen for $390-$400. This is the one I was talking about, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143141

Yes, it's a $30 rebate to make it $390, but the 4850 has a rebate too so I figured it was fair game ;)

As for GX2 being cheaper, I'd assume it's because they have a ton of G92 chips in stock and the design isn't getting any younger. GTX 280 by most accounts has horrible yields and costs something like $110 just to make the GPU itself.
