ok so i setup on my linksys router the WPA-PSK, then i wanted to filter MAC addresses so only certain computers can be used. It worked fine on my desktops but on my laptop, once i enabled the MAC address and put in the correct one for my laptop, it wouldn't let me connect to the wireless. I am inputing the correct mac address for my laptop.... i am 100% sure.

Why is this???

when i disable MAC filtering, i am able to connect to the secured network.

ANY CLUE??? thanks!!

(P.S) i have only tried this on one laptop, i will try more later and see if it is my laptop or the wireless.

Set the MAC address for the laptop in the router and then disable and then re-enable the wireless adapter on the laptop. See if it will connect after that.

MAC filtering is completely useless IMO. ESPECIALLY if you are already using WPA.

FYI - Your MAC Address is sent "in the clear" in packets...

WPA with a good strong password is all you'll ever need...
