Hi guys,

I am running (2) EVGA Geforce 7900 GTO in SlI mode
Opteron 180 @ 2.4 Ghz
2 Gig Ram (brand new tested good)
Asus A8N32 Mobo

the best score i can reach is 6230
Main test results
3DMark Score 6220 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 2590
SM 3.0 Score 2705
CPU Score 1856
Test Results
Graphics Tests
1 - Return to Proxycon 31.49 FPS
2 - Firefly Forest 11.67 FPS
CPU Tests
CPU1 - Red Valley 0.58 FPS
CPU2 - Red Valley 0.94 FPS
HDR Tests
1 - Canyon Flight (SM 3.0) 16.16 FPS
2 - Deep Freeze (SM 3.0) 37.93 FPS

I have tried difrent drivers and altough I got a 6700 score with the latest drivers. The graphics were real choppy and had lines across the screen and such, and the progam would not complete sometimes. So the best picture and graphics comes with an older driver installed. Also my EVGA cards both reach 100 Deg Celcius during the test. I haveall fans going and een with the open case they keep getting real hot.

can anyone help me out and tell me what i should do, and maybe what a reasonable score should be.

Thanks, Patrick

Thats about right. Slower CPU, older cards.

Try blowing a house fan into the case when you do this, thats pretty hot.

Look at my sig, I'm at 13006 for 3DMark 06.

Some of those FPS are low for SLI imo.
This is what i got with single 7900GTO at stock and an E6600 at 3.45GHz:
Code:
3DMark Score 6359 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 2596
SM 3.0 Score 2375
CPU Score 2933
Test Results
Graphics Tests
    1 - Return to Proxycon 20.84 FPS
    2 - Firefly Forest 22.43 FPS
CPU Tests
    CPU1 - Red Valley 0.94 FPS
    CPU2 - Red Valley 1.47 FPS
HDR Tests
    1 - Canyon Flight (SM 3.0) 21.57 FPS
    2 - Deep Freeze (SM 3.0) 25.93 FPS
This run is old, OCtober 2006, driver was 91.47 FM-approved.

Firefly forrest is really very slow on your rig, would have expected more also in Canyon Flight.

7 series sli probably didn't scale as well, anyway most people now get 12k for average rig in 06, whilst enthusiasts get nearly 20k or more. CPU is the bottleneck in 3dmark06. A QX9775 @ 3.2Ghz with a 7600gt would probably score better than a p4 2ghz with GTX280.

06 isnt extremely CPU limited and anyway OPs CPU is more than good enough. On the orb SLI'ed 7900GTX scores close to 4 times more in Firefly Forrest, then subtract a few FPS for the GTOs slower memory and still OP should expect 3 times more FPS in Firefly.

I've scored 11900 with my system (see sig), but noticed that even with my quad core I'm still getting 1 FPS or less.
And I'm running a single GTX+.
Pretty sure he should be getting better than my results, yes?

no thats about right ur CPU is much newer and as for the VC well the GTX+ should womp the 7900 SLI and guess what 11900 is much better then 6700.

no the difference is that his clock speed may be high but the CPU is not efficient enough. his CPU is what 2 years old now? if he was to upgrade his CPU i imagine his score would jump up alot closer to 10k espcial if he picked a new intel
