New E8500 (Q817) Odd Surface - Not Flat ?!

are all E8500s like this ?

notice what looks like symmetrical bevelling both left and right hand side of the CPU ? (middle is higher than the left/right edge)

my Q6600 and E2180 aren't like this ?!

any ideas ? or normal for Wolfdales ?

I would say you should give it a nice lap dance with the sandpaper!

It will give better contact and help spread that nice thermal paste over all of that cpu surface and get those temps traveling down as far as they can go...

well 2 hours later and its full installed

1.1625 VID
