Well, I ordered all the parts for my new build from TigerDirect.com. I have some of them in hand, but awaiting delivery of the rest of the parts. This will be my 14th build. The 3rd one for myself and builds for family and friends (for a bit of extra cash, hehe).

I checked the prices at other sites, such as NewEgg and ZipZoomFly (both of which I have ordered from in the past, all 3 companies are good). Prices were negligible, up and down...so I just saved a hastle and ordered all parts from the one vendor, TigerDirect.

Let me know what ya'll think of this setup:

Ultra Aluminus Tower
(2) 120mm Case Fans
(1) Expansion Slot Fan
Power Up 800W PSU
AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.6Ghz Agena Processor (came with free 2GB thumbdrive)
OCZ XTC 4096MB PC8000 (2x2GB)
Corsair Dominator RAM Fan
MSI K9A2 Platinum Mobo
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-300 32MB, 7200rpm
Thermaltake Hard Drive Cooler
Samsung DVDRW SATA drive
(2x) Sapphire 4850 1GB PCIe 2.0 Video Card

I got this all for a total of $1440.00

What do ya'll think about the overall build?

I do have a question about the PSU. I think I jumped the gun a bit with my choice of PSU. I am having big reservations about hooking it up to my system, as it seems to be a PSU that doesn't have a good history or proven worth. So, what do you all suggest? You think this will serve me well for a while? If I get another, what do you suggest? I know I'll probably need at least a 750-Watt. But I really don't want to spend more than $160, preferably around $130-$140 if I can. I'd like a modular one if I get another, but not absolutely necessary.

The problem is that the Video Card requires 26A on the +12v side to run at optimum performance, and it is hard to find a PSU which offers that.

Thanks.

P.S....Here are some pics of the case, PSU and the LED GPU fan from Spectrum/Vantec. That LED fan is pretty cool, variable speed and maximum of 29.some cfm. It was running when I took the picture... I didn't realize my camera had high-speed abilities...no blur at 4000RPM on those little fans...heh:

Here's what Sapphire Site says:

–450 Watt or greater power supply with 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express® power connector recommended (550 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

Also, it doesn't look like that Corsair has a 4-pin MOBO connector, which is needed on the MSI K9A2 Plat...or is that what that "1 x 12V(4/8Pin)" connector is?

Thanks again.

That Powerup is a 600W Wintech built unit. Not too good a unit - Corsair 620HX is a far better choice.

I have the all black version of the Aluminus - I like it, but I'm starting to get the urge for trying something else.
