I'm doing some testing with my chip at 1.400v (with droop at load volts run a little under) using Linpack/IntelBurnTest and I'm seeing some pretty high peak load temps using the most recent versions of Real Temp and Core Temp. What are some maximum load temps guidelines for brief testing? Linpack seems to produce higher temps (greater stress?) then OCCT.

The Thermal Spec. (max. Tcase at the max. Thermal Design Power (TDP) value; which is 65W for an E8600) is 72.4°C.

I have now swapped out my Scythe S-Flex for two more powerful Sanyo-Denki so my temps have come down but I did see some temps above 72.5 (just when I ran Linpack) is it likely that I may now have damaged my chip with this brief exposure to high temps?
