Sli Question

Just wondering...cause I am planning to go SLi with my 8800gtx, do both cards have to be the same spec? Or any 8800gtx will do? And how much performance increase would I get? Or do you think its a better idea to switch to the 9 series instead and which one? Thanks

I would say wait till you hit 100 posts and buy a new graphics card on the classifieds as well as sell your current 8800gtx there

Buying a new 8800gtx at that price isnt even remotely worth it.

Alternatively if you want a new card and not used you should keep an eye on the cyber deal section

I say sell the 8800GTX and pick up a 9800GX2.

A single 9800GX2 would cost the same price and would perform almost as well as two 8800GTXs.

Frys Electronics is selling an XFX 8800GTX for 159.99. Will it be worth it? And also, does it matter what brand the graphics card is in order for SLI to work? I've never gone SLI so I just wanted to what I need to get it done.
