in an all copperloop i would just use destilled water and some ptnuke ( i think it's called ) for preventing algaegrowt
or just pick up some antialgae stuff at a petstore to mix in with the water
well im useing iodine at the moment but i have antifreeze im my loop and its made my tubes turn pink (i want blue i have blue liquid) so im going to rebuild my pc soon so im going to revamp my water cooling
Distilled and Petras PT nuke is the best and easiest. It's a small bottle and you only use a few drops. My bottle is still more than 1/2 full and I have redone my loop (cleaned/added parts, changed layout etc at least 10 times.
You can buy the raw stuff at $60 a pound and include haz shipping but why bother. At under $10 shipped for Petras PT Nuke.
As an herbicide, fungicide, pesticide
Copper sulfate pentahydrate is a fungicide. Mixed with lime it is called Bordeaux mixture to control fungus on grapes and other berries. Its use as an herbicide is not agricultural, but instead for control of invasive exotic aquatic plants and the roots of other invasive plants near various pipes that contain water. A dilute solution of copper sulfate is used to treat aquarium fish of various parasitic infections, and is also used to remove snails from aquariums. However, as the copper ions are also highly toxic to the fish, care must be taken with the dosage. Most species of algae can be controlled with very low concentrations of copper sulfate.
It's cheap, safe to the loop, and you have no more worries. Couple Nuke with Tygon Silver tubing and you have a no worry loop.
