3rd video card for 2nd monitor
I have: 9800gtx+ x2 in SLI running a 24" at 1920x1200 and just picked up: Gecube Radeon RX7000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814241001 to run my other monitor at 1650x1080, with a 90 degree clockwise rotation. So, I got the two cards working in SLI, plugged in the pci card, and for some reason the system uses it as the primary boot-up display (for bios, etc.), this is a real pita since its sideways. Anyway, the two (well, 3) devices don't want to get along. I installed the drivers for the radeon and it completely screwed up the nvidia display settings. The 2nd monitor displays nothing after windows load screen and the main screen displays at 600x480 and low color settings (it states that the driver is older than the current OS). I was able to get both monitors to display once, but the 2nd monitor just displayed noise at 1650x1080 and froze. I'm using windows XP by the way. I can't find any additional drivers to test the gecube radeon 7000. This was the best pci card I could find for the money, is it not going to work for the other monitor? I need a solution for running the 2nd monitor since the first won't while using SLI. Ignore the system in my signature specs.

for one you should of gotten another NVIDIA card that can use the same drivers, can avoid any potential driver issues or problems. perhaps SLI blocks out any other cards from working while in SLI? did you try turning OFF sli to see if it all works fine?

Everything I read said DO NOT use another nvidia card for the other monitors, use an ATI instead. SLI really had no bearing on my tests, I haven't even connected the 2nd 9800 gtx+, right now its just the two cards. That being said, SLI works just fine. Take a look at this writeup for instance, posted on nvidia's site: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=6269 I'm going to try the drivers from ATI's site, I believe its a newer driver. well what you're seeing is windows XP's way of saying screw you lol. WinXP has a bad time trying to see 2 different card makers drivers. You really should've gotten another nvidia card. It wouldn't hurt anything you just have to make sure they support the same driver as Guv already said.
