Will DDR2 Ram Bottleneck GTX 260?

Howdy folks,

I really want to upgrade my sytem with a GTX260 at these fantastic prices. With the drastic DDR2 price drops and DDR3 ram on the market I am confused as to what is satisfactory RAM speed these days.

I'm a gamer and play at 1680x1050 resolution.

RAM: 2x1gb DDR2 800mhz CORSAIR XMS2 stock speed
CPU: E6600 stock speed stock cooling

Will a GTX260 to reach its potential or will I hit a bad bottleneck in the system? If I will bottleneck, what do you think would be the best solution?

Thanks guys!

I think you would be bottle necked by that cpu being at stock speeds... Overclock it and consequently the memory will overclock as well.

Ram over pc6400 doesn't carry that much advantage or much significance if your are not benching. You cpu probably poses higher bottle neck than mem.
