Ram not letting me OC?

I've been trying to get my cpu to 3ghz and im thinking it's my ram not letting me. Should I run memtest and see if i get any errors when i put my cpu at 3? Also is there a way to keep my ram running at ddr2 800?

You could try a memtest when its OCed, but you could also look in the BIOS for the ram divider and setting that so the ram stays at the lower clock speed.

I finally got my q6600 past 3! I set my ram as 667 and overclocked my cpu and now it runs at around 900(i forgot the exact number lol) So my quad is at 3.1 at 1.36 volts! Turns out my motherboard wasn't that cheap after all lol
